If I really believed
profound and ordinary mysteries
Hey, everyone! I haven’t been on Substack consistently, but I plan to start posting bi-weekly, maybe with an extra post thrown in every once in a while. So many of you have been sharing incredible work lately, and this inspires me to keep creating, even if that means just jotting down a brief poem when I find the time.
Speaking of short poetry (and time, for that matter), here’s a simple piece I wrote about a week ago.
If I really believed
That grace is the rain that softens the earth
That love will strip and mend
That truth is the feared dog, which swallows the rats
That humility is the quiet vessel of treasure
That in your face is the frame of God
That each day is a new pearl
That each day is a petal on the wind Teach us to realize the brevity of life,
so that we may grow in wisdom.
—Psalm 90:12 (NLT)

Wonderful as always, Abbi!
So beautiful!
